Review last week's assignment. Ask 2–3 students to share. Correct one common error and celebrate one strong example.
Teach 5–10 target words. Always include: meaning, Chinese equivalent when useful, example, synonym, antonym, and/or word family.
Script It!: turn a boring situation into a funny 12-line scene.
Each student produces something before leaving: a sentence, answer, mini-story, explanation, role-play, or spoken response. Keep it quick and visible.

Chinese puts the full stop outside 「」. American English puts it inside, and a comma replaces the full stop when a tag follows. Nobody teaches this, so almost every student writes it wrong for years. Show the two side by side once and it lands.
中文的句號放在「」外面。美式英文放在裡面，而且後面接 said 之類的時候，句號要換成逗號。這件事沒有人教，所以學生錯很多年。並排給他們看一次就懂了。

Dom's activity needs a situation, so here is a deliberately dull one. Twelve lines, two characters, and by line four something must go wrong. Friendship or family — Dom asks that Valentine's week stay off romance.

One statement, one question, both with a reporting verb that is not 'said'. The punctuation is the grade.

Prep · 備課
No preparation needed. Two things to fix: 說 covers said, asked, replied and told, so students use 'said' for everything — Dom's word list is the cure. And English punctuates quotations in a way Chinese does not, which is invisible until you show it side by side.
不必備課。這週修兩件事：中文一個「說」涵蓋 said、asked、replied、told，所以學生什麼都用 said——Dom 的字表就是解藥。另外英文的引號標點和中文不同，不並排對照給學生看，他們看不見。
